Today's recipe is one of my family's favorites. It's taken from a Ragu online recipe: https://www.ragu.com/our-recipes/beef-alfredo-chili-mac/?pp=1&epik=dj0yJnU9eUIweWtDNGhGNnhEQzd6d3BvQW5OUFo0RW1WTUljUzMmbj11dEQzN0poMHU0V2JtZkZLcEVMUmFBJm09MyZ0PUFBQUFBRjBtMUJR and it follows my philosophy of having great herbs and spices on hand, because if you have those on hand you'll always be able to throw anything together with great flavor. This recipe is called beef alfredo chili mac and uses chili powder spice. I love these kinds of recipes because it shows how adding one simple spice to a few basic ingredients can make a full tasty meal. That's how important spices and herbs are to keeping and running an inexpensive pantry. I used 1 lb of 73%/15% frozen ground beef at $2.88 from Walmart, 1 16oz box of macaroni at $0.88, and one jar of Great Value classic alfredo sauce at $1.50 making the pasta a total of $5.26. That's enough to make a filing meal but I wanted a side dish, so the frozen corn was an added $0.84.
